about

Originally conceived to be a double-album concept album, like "Paradise Theatre" or "Dancing On the Ceiling", "St. Donny" excluded all the padding and filler that would have placed it in the pantheon of the above-mentioned opuses. The result? A hauntingly magnetic opera of sorts.

Pizazz were an unknown supergroup from Long Island in the mid-to-late 90s. Featuring Mike O'Shaughnessy of The Throats, Jim O'Shaughnessy of The Feebs and Jen Mackey of The Frustrations, Pizazz dominated the basement/bedroom music scene of eastern Nassau County in the mid-90's (fizzling out in the Pacific Northwest in 2001 with a collection of sub-par recordings). Ah, but those albums during the Clinton Administration!

Track Name: The King of Baseball
THE KING OF BASEBALL

14 baseballs on 14 breezes
14 snowballs in 14 freezers

(They used to call him the king of baseball)

Over the fence and down the hill
I used a 29 until
I had the strength to swing a 30
I made a dive and hit the dirt

There's a mark left by my sweat band
The rest of my arm got a nice tan
My uniform was like the Yankees'
When they were playing in the 20's

And then one season we got new ones
That was the season I got two runs

(They used to call him the king of baseball)
