about

"The Low Low Moon" is the only release by Heirs to the McQueen Fortune. Recorded in the perpetually damp atmosphere of Portland, OR, TLLM began as a concept album about something to do with the sea. Many of the songs were written in a castle on the Oregon coast. A castle-shaped vacation rental, at least. Ultimately, it's just 16 songs strung together. But if you're listening to it at the beach, it might make more sense.

Heirs to the McQueen Fortune were a one-off band, featuring Jim & Mike O'Shaughnessy (ex-O'Shaughnessy Brothers, ex-Pizzazz). A couple of years later, their younger brother Pete learned the drums and the three of them formed The Pink Lights. So while a great band, the Heirs are 33% worse than The Pink Lights. Nevertheless, an important piece of the puzzle that is Sleeping Brothers Records.
